A good prom DJ combines music students enjoy with confident hosting, clear sound for speeches and a practical preparation process. Compare the complete service, real event footage and the approach to planning — as well as the price.
What should a prom DJ and MC provide?
A prom moves through several different moods. The welcome, school leaders’ speeches and the polonaise call for precision and composure. The dancefloor needs energy, well-chosen music and a connection with the guests. The person responsible for the entertainment must understand both. Ask about the playlist and how they will introduce the formal parts of the evening.
Our DJ and MC service includes preparing a bespoke running order. We tailor the line-up to the event, performing solo or as a duo. Before booking, establish who will host, who will handle the music and how the team will work together at key moments. A phrase such as “complete service” is no substitute for those details.
How can real event footage help you judge experience?
Watch prom footage showing both the formal programme and the party. Listen for clear announcements, natural invitations to dance and participation from different groups. A short video captures only part of an event, so use it to start a conversation rather than as your only basis for choosing.
Ask about working with the parent committee and student council, too. An experienced team can bring different ideas together into one clear plan. They need a contact with decision-making authority and someone at the venue. That way, questions about setup, meals and speeches can be resolved before the prom.
Your favourite tracks and the dancefloor response.
Put together a shared list of favourite songs, a few tracks that mean something to your year group and, if useful, music you would rather avoid. You do not need to programme every song in order. A rigid playlist can make it harder to respond to what guests are enjoying on the night.
We discuss the music with students and make room for their favourite tracks, while watching the dancefloor and adjusting the energy between sets. It is worth discussing lyrics, school traditions and the audience in advance. A prom can feel contemporary while remaining appropriate for an evening shared by students, teachers and parents.
Sound and lighting: ask about the result, not just the power.
Good sound means more than impact on the dancefloor. Speeches by school leaders, parents and students should be intelligible further away from the DJ booth, too. Ask about microphones, a sound check and matching the system to the room and guest numbers. An intimate prom and an event for several hundred people need different preparations.
We bring our own sound system and professional lighting. The DJ booth’s appearance matters as well: it will be visible throughout the evening and in photographs and videos. Share the floor plan so the discussion is about your actual venue. Agree equipment positions with the venue, considering the dancefloor and available power.
Group dances, games and competitions with good judgement.
A guided group dance can bring together people who were previously celebrating in separate groups. That does not mean every prom needs the same activities. Discuss how much time you would like for organised interaction and how much for uninterrupted music. Good hosting encourages people to join in without pressure.
We offer group dances, games, competitions and prizes, with the style and scope agreed with the organisers. Before the event, decide which ideas suit your year group and school traditions. Also discuss the best place for them in the programme, so they do not clash with meals or formal speeches.
How do you compare proposals and travel costs?
Ask for the working hours, line-up, sound, lighting, microphones, running order and any additional activities to be specified. Agree the conditions for extra time and venue access before the prom. Comparing two prices only becomes meaningful when you know what each includes.
We are based in Piaseczno, with travel within 100 km included at no extra charge. We provide prom entertainment throughout Poland, not just around Warsaw. Longer-distance travel is confirmed in your proposal. Your date and estimated guest numbers are enough to start the conversation; the venue helps us refine the logistics later.
Questions to ask before booking.
Who will host our prom? How do we share music suggestions? What technical equipment and booth styling are included? Who prepares the running order? How are competitions, prizes and group dances agreed? When is setup? What are the working hours and travel arrangements? The answers should be clear to everyone on the committee.
Keep the key arrangements together and use them to make your decision. Good communication before the event gives you an indication of what working together on the night will feel like. To explore our approach, read our services page and send us your date. We will prepare a proposal around your plans.
Frequently asked questions.
Can the DJ also host the polonaise and speeches?
Yes. Our service includes a DJ and MC, a running order and microphones for the formal programme. We agree on the sequence and polonaise recording in advance.
Can we suggest our own music?
Yes. We discuss the playlist with the students, taking account of favourite songs and the character of the prom. The order of the music responds to the dancefloor.
Do you only work in Warsaw and Piaseczno?
No. We cover all of Poland. Travel within 100 km of our Piaseczno base is included; arrangements for longer journeys are confirmed in the proposal.
